Well, it’s been an eventful year for Strategic Social Profiles. This year Annabel and I were busy working on launching our Social Media Strategy workshops for small business owners and writing our 5 Steps to Social It Yourself online pack.
As a small business, we know the time and effort that goes into working behind the scenes to create material that is easy for clients to understand, learn from and access easily. So as well as doing our 'day job', consulting with clients on their social media strategy and writing many LinkedIn Profiles for busy professionals, we were very happy to achieve the next step in our strategy - workshops.
We delivered three workshops this year, which was insightful and valuable for Annabel and I to receive feedback and further develop our content and importantly hear first hand small business owners major social media pain points.
Our first workshop was hosted by The Hon Shannon Fentiman, Minister for Employment and Small Business; Minister for Training and Skills Development, in her electorate of Waterford. Many local business owners attended and participated in gaining a deeper understanding of the steps required to having an engaging and successful social media strategy.
In May, Annabel and I successfully tendered for a 2019 Queensland Small Business Grant which enabled us to host our second workshop for SEQ small business owners, held at the Brisbane Powerhouse. As part of receiving this grant we were invited to participate in a video series Business Queensland produced for their website on our 5-Steps to creating a social media strategy. Watch the video here. We thoroughly recommend small businesses keep up-to-date with the various grants Business Queensland have on offer. We have really enjoyed working with the Business Queensland team and their website provides small business owners with excellent resources to help you in your business journey.
Our third workshop focussed on the first two steps of our online program. Setting Goals and Identifying & Understanding Your Target Audience, and our participants received practical hands on guidance on these critical steps, designed to take back to their business and implement straight away. Based on the success of these workshops, we plan to run more in 2020. Keep an eye out for information we'll post closer to the dates.
Strategic Social Profiles also celebrated its 4th year of business. A huge milestone for both of us. Looking back to our first year of business, we reflected on the change and evolution the business has taken. One thing that hasn't wavered is our determination to remain steadfast in our mission - to assist small business and professionals with social media strategy.
So as the year comes to an end and we see in a new decade, we have much to be thankful for. To all our blog subscribers, clients and supporters. Thank you.
We would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and prosperous and successful 2020.
